Titian Bakau

Fresh air, cool wind, peaceful vibes!

The awesome plank walkway constructed along the riverside is finally completed. It's a truly beautiful place to enjoy the richness and beauty of nature and be immersed in its tranquility.

Thankful to Majlis Perbandaran Muar for their effort. Feel blessed to be a Muarian and proud of our Majlis Perbandaran Muar .

Cokcles

We passed by a fisherman’s stall this morning. A Malay man was selling cockles. Yok Lang Lim wanna buy some, but we both hadn’t even a single cent with us. However, the Malay man said, ‘Tak apalah, bayar lain kali.’

We didn’t often cycle around the kampong, and we hadn’t even met the man before, but he trusted us just like this! I was really moved by his kindness!

Trust and friendship (Muhibbah) do exist among the various races in this country, just try not to tear them further apart, dear politicians!

Cotton bolls popped

Yesterday morning, our school guard sent me a message and a photo, telling me that another cotton boll was popping open.

Since the second dose of vaccination, I was then staying at home and never returned to school to visit the cotton plants. During this period, the cotton bolls were popping one after one.

The purpose of growing cotton plants was to open up the eyes of the children and to let them witness the growing process of the cotton plants. Thanks to Jeremy from 3K for providing me cotton seeds, but the cat in the school compound got into the big flowerpots, slept in it and crushed the seedlings to death twice. After that, my colleague Mdm Yeo brought me some more seeds, and the school guard once again helped to plant the seeds and took good care of them so that the cat would not destroy them. In the end, both cotton plants had grown up, but unfortunately the school had been closed before they bloomed and bore fruit!

Back at school, I was really joyful when I saw the popped cotton bolls! From the sowing to the popping of the cotton bolls, instead of the children, I had actually opened my own eyes! If it hadn't been wet by the rain, the popped cotton would have looked like white, soft and attractive cotton candy! Thanks to the school guard for taking good care of the cotton plants! Thankful to the nature world for granting such beautiful resources to mankind!

Short video done

Finally, done editing the short video to be submitted to Muar PPD.

Thankful to Mdm How Siok Geok for her effort and hard work to record the video, and to guide and direct her three kids Nicholas, Jasmine, Charlene as well as Darren and Zhekang from 6M to play their roles super well in the story of 'Ah Heng & PdPR'. She had really saved us a lot at this moment while video recording isn't allowed under NRP SOP!

Thanks to our team members for the sharing of the many videos from the internet as reference to the creation of our short video and contributing their ideas in the story.

Birthday greeting

Thanks to 玉兰老师 for the birthday song audio specially sung by her sent to me early in the morning, and for bringing me my birthday breakfast as well - delicious black soy sauce fried noodles with spicy dried tofu! The fried noodles had naturally become my "寿面"!

I do not use to celebrate my birthday every year. Even so, I would still receive some birthday blessing messages on the day. This year, due to the severe coronavirus pandemic, everyone was trapped at home most of the time. However, on this day, there were still birthday cake, food and gift sent to me, and there were also birthday messages on mobile phones and Facebook too. During this severe pandemic, it's a great blessing indeed to have such a lavish birthday while there are many people out there couldn’t even settle their daily meals, and it’s indeed time for us to stretch out  our helping hand to them.

Birthday is a day for us to express our gratitude to our parents and share the joy and beauty of our life with them. Even if my parents had left us long, I would always feel thankful to them no matter how old I get!

Thanks to all for the kindest birthday wishes, and I wish all to stay strong, healthy and peaceful in the face of the pandemic challenge. Let’s look forward to an early victory in the battle against the corona virus and resume our healthy and beautiful life soon!

The White Flag Movement

Picture: from FB

Thanks to Mdm Nik Faiza Nik Othman, deputy chief of the Tumpat Amanah's women’s wing in Kelantan, for launching the movement at this most distressing moment across the nation! Her mercy call has moved many people to step up to help fellow Malaysians whose household are desperately in need of  assistance. The heartwarming responses from all the most compassionate people nationwide have really moved me to tears! May we get to defeat the pandemic and resume our normal life soon!

Cotton Plant

Gave several cotton seeds to our school guard Pakcik Hatta to help to plant in the school garden during MCO 3. When the school was closed due to surge of covid-19 cases in the country, the seeds had already germinated. Pakcik Hatta helped to take care of the two cotton plants throughout these days during FMCO, and finally a flower bloomed and developed into a tiny cotton boll, and I am looking forward to witnessing the cotton boll to be matured, splits open and reveals the silky cotton within it.

Food

It’s the taste of mom’s food that reminds the children to be back home from faraway places.
It’s the taste of Malaysian food that reminds the people to be back to their motherland from all over the world.

Embrace Nature

Picked some photos took in New Zealand 2 years ago as well as some inspirational quotes from the internet to produce the above slide show, as a memory of my visit to the country. Felt really peaceful throughout the making process as the photos selected were mostly pictures of the nature and the music was such soothing.

Visit to Gersik

Visited to Gersik again during the 12th day of the lunar new year. Just curious about how attractive the light decoration on the street which had drawn flocks of visitors from Muar before lunar new year. Didn't bring my camera along this time as I wanna have a really free walk this time.

As new year had already passed and thus, there were not many visitors when we were there. It's good to be there after the new year as I preferred to walk on the peaceful street rather than being jostled in the hustle crowd. After having roti canai and a good chat at a Malay restaurant there, we walked around the small town to take a few photos while enjoying the night view. The locals had indeed made a great effort to light up the night of the town with traditional lanterns and colorful LED lights. Their hard work was very much appreciated.

Retirement of HM

Glad to have my part done rather satisfying during our HM's retirement ceremony. Tried my best to prepare the powerpoint slides and video clips to be presented during the ceremony. Thankful indeed while Mr Loi was satisfied and moved by the slides done. Thankful to my most helpful colleague Mr Heng for his most sincere help to be the narrator of the slides presentation during the ceremony. His most awesome narration had indeed made the slides presentation such attractive. Thanks to my most responsible girl from 6M Chew Jae An for her kindest help to handle the laptop for the presentation, with her help, the slides were shown perfectly, she is such a lovely girl.

Jae An and Mr Heng
Besides, I would like to express my most heartfelt appreciation to all the teachers and students who had involved in the singing presentation too. The students had been practicing the song and well prepared themselves without the presence of the teachers, while the teachers had also done their best though they were such busy with all the school reopening chores. And the performance had also gained loud applause from the floor too.

Singing Presentation By The Teachers and Students
Thankful indeed to the team spirit contributed by the school folks which had finally made the event a warmest and success one!
