2016 Kampung Ride

Went for 2016 Oasis-s2h Charity Kampung Ride once again with 玉兰老师。

It's most challenging and interesting to crunch over the gravel of the stony lane and riding in the mud along the country road, though exhausted at the end of the journey, ha!

Another awesome and enjoyable experience and thankful for the cloudy weather that prevented us from being sunburned under the hot sun.

Traditional Lantern

120 hand made traditional lanterns were contributed by Weechen during the mid autumn festival celebration of our children dhamma class at the Tanjung Emas square. The lanterns were produced all by himself with the empty milk cans collected from the coffee shop. Two cans were needed for each set of the lantern. The lanterns were such creatively and neatly designed and had attracted many children to come and join our activities. They were so excited while rolling the spinning lantern around and they had indeed filled the square with lots of laughter.

Thankful to Weechen for his kindest and greatest effort to bring so much laughter and happiness to the children who had been enjoying the night so much! The lanterns had also brought back lots of nostalgic childhood memory to the adults too!

Learning

At last, fixed the driver installation problem caused by win 10 for the desktop in the staff room.

Trouble shooting was indeed time consuming, but it would be so much satisfied once the problem was fixed! Thanks to those who generously share their knowledge online. Information shared online enable us to tackle some PC problems by ourselves without too dependent on the others. And it enables us to keep learning too.

Life, is a continuous learning process.

Mural Completed!

Finally, mural completed! A fantastic piece of artwork!

Went to the open ceremony of the done mural with Esther and 玉兰老师 to share the joy of the completion of the art piece  with many other Muarians and the local authorities, as well as those who had contributed so much to the success of the art piece, their hard work are very much appreciated. Besides, got to meet with several more artists who will be coloring our city with more and more murals in the days ahead!

Proud of the mural indeed which has been recorded as the biggest portrait in the country! Cheers!

Mural Painting

A mural painting project is launched recently to promote tourism in our hometown.

Several artists are invited to paint the murals on the wall of a few buildings in the town. The first artist to start the painting is  Julia Volchkova a Russian artist from Saint Petersburg. As I am rather interested in artwork as well as driven by curiosity, I brought my camera along to the spot to capture a few pictures of how the art piece being painted. Missed the moment when the drawing is drafted, somehow, when the color is done mixing and the painting was about to begin, the weather went bad and it started drizzling. The painting job hence had to stop owing to the rain, will be back there again to witness the picture being painted tomorrow.

An Interesting Evening

Met my ex-colleague Mr Tan and had a good chat with him at the river bank while taking a break after having evening exercise.

Nice indeed to share his wisdom and stories of life. He is a man of integrity and who has been working so hard throughout his life time, and yet still working hard though he had retired for quite a number of years. It's really interesting to listen to those amusing stories of his and he had really made my day!

Sunset

Yes, every sunset is an opportunity to reset, thus, do not ever feel desperate but reset everything when things go wrong in our life!

Craving Fulfilled!

Drop in Ipoh to have bean sprout chicken together with Esther on our journey to Penang.

Have been missing it and craving for it for ages as I hardly travel to the North.

My mouth just couldn't help watering when the smooth and juicy chicken as well as the freshest bean sprout were served in front of us.

Craving was finally fulfilled and looking forward to have the bean sprout chicken again during our year end trip to the North suggested among us :)

Salted Duck Eggs

Finally, the salted duck eggs were done.

Our unprecedented attempt to preserve salted duck eggs ended up successfully.
The students were very excited and so much looking forward to the salted eggs to be done. They kept reminding me the due date of the preservation period. Thanks to Alston's mom for supporting the activity by contributing 30 duck eggs to the students, and Ms Lee, the noodle stall owner of the school canteen for boiling the salted eggs and a pot of porridge for the students.

It's indeed an interesting learning process and experience to me and the students!

Nyonya Memoir Memory Lane

It's the 2nd day of the lunar new year.
Visited to the Nyonya Memoir memory lane in Malacca today together with Esther, and it was really fun.
We spent around an hour lingering around those nostalgic scenes and stage-set! There was no visitor there other than 2 of us. We enjoyed taking lots of pictures that brought back many of our childhood memories. I had never been enjoying taking pictures so much before coz it was really excited to travel by the time machine of the Doraemon to go back to our long lost childhood time!
